> Running builds in docker using Docker Desktop on a Mac is incredibly slow. Using HBase
as a testing tools, a {{man clean install -DskipTests}} run "natively" takes about ~2 minutes
while the same command run within the Docker Desktop container environment takes ~45 minutes.
Apparently this is to be expected, but can be improved by specifying a [volume mount option|https://docs.docker.com/docker-for-mac/osxfs-caching/].
Right now there's no way to expose such an option to the user. Ideally pre-commit could even
detect the environment and apply the necessary options accordingly.
