Subject [jira] [Updated] (YETUS-445) Incorporate check_compatibility that runs Java API Compliance Checker
Date Wed, 24 Aug 2016 01:26:21 GMT

Andrew Wang updated YETUS-445:
    Attachment: YETUS-445.003.patch

Here's a new rev with some assorted fixes:

* Switched from optparse over to argparse
* Added filtering on the filename, so you can restrict to e.g. just "hadoop-hdfs*","hadoop-yarn*"
if you want.
* Added some "skip" flags for debugging, useful if you don't want to rebuild every time

I generated a report for Hadoop, but nothing showed up. I suspect the InterfaceAnnotations
stuff isn't working properly. I disabled the annotations-list and ran it on Guava, which generated
what looks like a correct report. Still debugging what's wrong.

> Kudu has a script which runs Java ACC to determine API changes
between releases. HBase has a similar script written in bash, and there's also demand for
using this in Hadoop.
> Rather than having this script in 3 different places, it'd be nice if it was maintained
in Yetus instead. We can bring in the Kudu version as a starting point:
