Unfortunately, this does not work with Czech special chracters, which are
covered by ISO-8859-2. When running FOP from command line, it displays
something like this:

numbers in ch283? and similar are UNICODE codes for Czech characters,
which are replace by hash signs in output. Any idea what going wrong?
Should I try to use other fonts than default or something is wrong
inside FOP?

I will appreciate any suggestion.

P.S. All files I am using are UTF-8 encoded. Czech charcter get
mangled by xalan during XSL Transforamtion even before coming to
FOP when using iso-8859-2.
