Subject Setting Environment Variable via Pear Packaging Maven Plugin

Hi,
I would like to enquire is it possible to set environment variables using the Pear Packaging
Maven Plugin other than CLASSPATH and DATAPATH? From my first initial look at the source code,
there is a variable props, but this cannot be set from the pom.xml?
