We never had a similar feature, actually what you probably remember is that
before was showing the latest (only one) and now you got the "most popular"
(few).

About the other comment around the logo I think I've already answered you
few days ago in another thread saying that the puzzle icon comes from
OpenOffice start center, we just homogenized the
look&feel with the actual OpenOffice style.
