Subject [jira] [Commented] (ACCUMULO-3946) Not all accumulo events are audited for Audit logging
Date Thu, 06 Aug 2015 18:42:05 GMT

James Mello commented on ACCUMULO-3946:

So for the current org.apache.accumulo.server.master.Master, there is a TraceWrap.service
that creates a proxy around the MasterClientServiceHandler.

   Processor<Iface> processor = new Processor<Iface>(TraceWrap.service(new MasterClientServiceHandler()));

The service handler is where we want the instrumentation, but I'm not sure if we want to
use another proxy wrapper to do the logging, or if we want to do imperative coding on methods
themselves. I'm leaning towards putting some code in with the actual methods, but I want to
be sure that this doesn't violate any design principals you guys have.

> Currently accumulo does not log all the major events such as table creation and permissions
changes. Please modify the existing logging to include missing auditing. Note this is related
to ticket ACCUMUO-3939.
