Scott,

It would be lovely to see something like a blocking queue and a concurrent
map.  Obviously, these would depend on some form of serialization, but it
should be pretty simple to inject a serializer/deserializer.  That would let
me, as a user, use whatever serialization
that I like (Avro, protobuf, Java serializable, toString/getBytes).
