Enrico Olivelli commented on ZOOKEEPER-3444:
--------------------------------------------

I can't see a correlation between windows 10 and windows server.
Are you using some kind of symbolic links?

May it be some kind of issue with EOL in the config file?

>
>
> The *zoo.cfg* is a copy-paste from the *zoo_sample.cfg* - the *dataDir* parameter is
pointing to E:/zookeeper - an existing empty directory.
> The previous two stable releases start without any issues:
> zookeeper-3.4.10.tar.gz
> zookeeper-3.4.14.tar.gz
>
> Last, but not least, the 3.5.5 release works fine for me on Windows 10 (fully updated),
Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012 R2.
