I think Christian meant votes were in public for FOP and private for 
Batik. Yes I remember a few awkward votes before now.

Aren't all active committers on FOP members of the PMC too?

BTW, wouldn't it be more appropriate to have this discussion on the PMC 
mailing list :-)
