part of word missing when broken across pages

------- Additional Comments From mathias_jansson@hotmail.com 2003-01-09 13:56 -------
I found another case when pending areas get to be pending for ever ;-)

I tried on both fop 0.20.4 and 0.20.5 with the same resulting error.

The problem is reproduceable. Add a word containing multiple formatting
(inlines) at the very end of a page.
For instance, putting the text MissingText
with
page break kicking in some where in the middle of this word, will result in
that Missing is missing on the next page.

I've tracked the code and found the exact same behaviour as previously depicted.

I have made a ugly solution to handle this myself but it's not worth posting
(just add pending for this case, chops word over pages).
Also I realize that a real nice solution to this requires a bigger work effort
and more understanding of the fop architecture.

My guess is that there's no functionality to handle multiple inlines that span
over one word in a page-break situation.

Maybe this can be handled in FoObjMixed.Layout()??

Will this issue be regarded for later releases?

Regards Mathias
