There are no issues that require Board attention. Developer activity has be=
en rather low for all three subprojects, apart from the FOP work on Complex=
 Scripts. A vote is ongoing to establish Java 1.5 as the base version of th=
e platform.

=3D=3D=3D XML Graphics Commons =3D=3D=3D

XGC's Gump builds started causing error reports when the build infrastructu=
re was moved from sun to openjdk. This is due to a dependency on com.sun Ja=
va classes, especially on the com.sun JPEG codec. Very recently this depend=
ency was removed, so that the project builds are successful again. A vote i=
s ongoing to merge new work on Color from a branch into trunk.

=3D=3D=3D Batik =3D=3D=3D

There have been practically no changes to the codebase in the last three mo=
nths. User list activity has gone down a bit but questions are mostly getti=
ng answers. Because Batik depends on XGC, its Gump builds failed as well.

=3D=3D=3D Fop =3D=3D=3D

Support for Complex Scripts in FOP is being developed by Glenn Adams, who i=
s sponsored for this work by Basis Technologies. Completion of this work wi=
ll make FOP truly global, as is required in today's world, but this will ta=
ke some time. The current phase focuses on Arabic scripts. Because FOP depe=
nds on XGC, its Gump builds failed as well. With the help of infrastructure=
, we have realised nightly builds for FOP. Old Renderer implementations for=
 AFP, PCL, PDF, PS were removed, to reduce redundancy in the code. Glenn Ad=
ams introduced a policy of no checkstyle, javadoc and ant warnings.

=3D=3D=3D Deployment to Maven repository =3D=3D=3D

With help of a fellow ASF committer the artifacts of the XML Graphics Commo=
ns 1.4 and FOP 1.0 releases were deployed to the Maven repository, one mont=
h after the release of FOP.
