   I'm not certain you can use the Transcoder as is.  However you
should be able to build one GVT for the document and perform multiple
renderings on that at one time (I think...).  As long as you are
not manipulating the document in any way, just rendering different
areas.

   Build the Graphics Tree (GVT) once for the document then render
that multiple times.  This will be much faster and save lots of 
memory.  If there might be lots of overlap between the regions
rendered by each thread you might use one of the caching renderers
which is attached to an LRU cache of tiles.
