Hello Ruud,

Thanks for your interest in SVG and the Batik project. For the Batik web 
start demo to be able to load a URL from an outside URL, we would need  to
change the security settings. I am unfortunately not in a position to 
work on this right now and my suggestion is to send an email on the  Batik
mailing list so that active commiters can look into this:

Another option is to enter a request for extension at:

http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla

I wish I could tell you I'd work on this immediately, but that would not 
be realistic, so the above is the best way to get the extension you are 
asking for,
