Try it with the sort01 test and you'll see the same idea, with a twist.
Then if you comment out xsl:sort, only one of each node appears, so sort is
a culprit.

Severity moved down because the problem involves diagnostics and might now be
well-bounded, but I think it should be investigated more deeply soon.
