OK, that fix has already been integrated into "beta refresh" AKA "beta2"
which will be available later this year.  Unfortunately, there is
somewhat of a lag between when Sun distributes a pre-release of 1.4 and
the current state of code of a particular component.  I think this is
because 1.4 is a large wad of software and all the components have to
have a certain level of quality before it gets released and certain
components are frozen earlier than others.

OK, this doesn't sound right.
