In the ideal word:

-	Near daily check of PMC related mail - and be timely
to deal with license clarifications, forwarding press
requests, etc, etc. Expect 2-6 hours/month for this.

-	Monthly meetings; by phone, email or other way which
	is agreeable to all.

-	You must be interested in the ASF and XML as a whole;
and have a good overview of what is happening. This
can take up a lot of time.

-	On a case by case basis; delve into a problem and
help solve it. For things as complex as working
with versioning or for example dive in the dependency
area - that can be a lot of work.

-	You should be interested in 'dry' issues; such as
working with a company who needs a license clarification
or working with a new group to get them selves started.
If code is the thing you enjoy most - avoid a PMC
	like the plague :-)

Face to Face meetings are rare - and generally *should* be avoided to make
a wide particiapation from around the globe possible. Though of course
once a year there is a members meeting at the apache con which is a good
opportunity. There is a CVS repository to share documents in.

PMC people can by -anyone-; apache member, a committer, a mailing list
lurker or even someone totally external.
