Subject RE: How to...

The Apache General list is not the right forum for this type of question. Since it is on general
XSLT usage, I would suggest the XSL-List hosted by Mulberry Technologies

There are a couple of things wrong with your attempt,

First it is not well-formed XML since you cannot have ">" (or is it "<") appear in attributes.

What you want to do is:

<xsl:template match="record">
 	<xsl:if test="'on'=/it/parms/controls">
		<input type='checkbox' name='delete' value=''/>Delete
		<input type='button' name='edit' value='Edit'>
			<!-- adds an attribute to the current element -->
			<xsl:attribute name="onClick">doEdit('<xsl:value-of select="parent:@id"/>')</xsl:attribute>

If you have any more questions, please post to the XSL list and also give a fragment of the
document that you are transforming.
