I have hunted all through AlphaWorks + several similar repositories - they
often have applications that do this sort of thing, but never do they share
any source code with us!
If anyone knows different, please say ...

Patrick Lightbody wants to create a "simple web-based XML editor" that will
read a DTD and enforce required structure. There may be code that does all
part of this at
which is a repository of XML and Java stuff.
