Subject TEX to XML LINK
Date Thu, 18 Jan 2001 10:05:39 GMT
It was an interesting question and there seems to be a package out there
ready for use. I'd be curious to hear how it works out for you.

Regards,

Richard

TeX4ht: LaTeX and TeX for Hypertext (see www.tug.org) TeX users Group page

TeX4ht is a highly configurable TeX-based authoring system for producing
hypertext. It interacts with TeX-based applications through style files and
postprocessors, leaving the processing of the source files to the native TeX
compiler. Consequently, TeX4ht can handle the features of TeX-based systems
in general, and of the LaTeX and AMS style files in particular.
The examples of this document relate mainly to configurations tailored for
HTML 3.2, HTML transitional 4.0, XHTML, CSS, XML, and MathML. The document
itself, zipped together with the files of TeX4ht, is available for
downloading

Look at TeXML from http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com. There's a DTD for
expressing
syntax of TeX documents.
