Subject AW: xml DIFF utlity??
Date Wed, 20 Dec 2000 11:41:06 GMT
We are facing the same problem: the need for an XML diff utility.

The problem with the alphaworks solutions (there are actually two of
them: "XML Diff and Merge Tool" and "XML TreeDiff") is their
***licencing***: They are ***not free***. They are for personal use
only or for a 90 days trial period respectively. Even if we want to
buy them we can't. Alphaworks seems to be aware of the problem, but
only partially. One can read on their home page "You can now purchase
licenses right from our website.", but that is only for a small subset
of their products, excluding the XML diff solutions. Does anyone have
an explanation for that?

By the way: There is another possible candidate for an XML diff solution:
http://www.deltaxml.com/. Haven't had a look at it myself yet.

Steve Cohen asks about an XML diff utility.

There is an "XML diff and merge tool" available free at
