Regarding both of your posting, it looks like you are not using the latest
xerces1.2.0, check the classpath again(and lib/ext directory if you are
using  JDK1.2 and later) and see if there is any other xerces.jar from
previous distribution.

I am pretty sure the 2 problems existed in the old versions, and I've fixed
both of them already in 1.2.0.
