CVS has absolutely no clue when a directory was created. All it knows is
whether there is a directory or not. If you create a new directory in
your hierarchy today, and do a check out based on yesterday, the new
directory will show up, even though it didn't exist yesterday. It will
be empty, and if you use the -P (prune empty directories) option, CVS
will then remove it. But it's just a hack, it would remove just the same
a directory which did exist yesterday and is also empty.
