Subject RE: Any firewalls between you and the CVS?
Date Mon, 07 Feb 2000 23:11:05 GMT
Curt,

Our IS guys are great.

Here is the error message I was getting when the Firewall was up:
cvs login
(Logging in to anoncvs@xml.apache.org)
cvs [login aborted]: connect to xml.apache.org:2401 failed: Connection
refused

*****CVS exited normally with code 1*****

Here is what happened when the firewall was turned off:
cvs login
(Logging in to anoncvs@xml.apache.org)
cvs [login aborted]: connect to xml.apache.org:2401 failed: Connection
refused

Any ideas?

I haven't found away around the problem for myself and my IS guys are not
real forthcoming. I did a little digging previously and found some mentions
of how to configure CVS to work around a firewall
using SOCKS.

The CVS page say newer versions of SOCKS can support standard versions of
CVS
