Subject Help using xalan and xcerces
Date Fri, 18 Feb 2000 16:16:42 GMT
Hello,

I tried to use Xalan (0.19.2) and Xerces (1.0.1) to create a html file
from a xml file
My files are:

foo.xml

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<foo>
<bar>Smith</bar>
</foo>

foo.xsl

<?xml version= "1.0"?>
<xsl:stylesheet
 xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/XSL/Transform" version="1.0">

<xsl:template match="foo">
        <HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Foo</TITLE></HEAD>
        <BODY>

        <xsl:apply-templates/>
        </BODY>
        </HTML>
</xsl:template>

<xsl:template match="bar">
        <P>
        <xsl:value-of select="."/>
        </P>
</xsl:template>

</xsl:stylesheet>

The command which I used is:

    java org.apache.xalan.xslt.Process -IN $foo.xml -XSL $foo.xsl -OUT
$foo.html -HTML

The computer displaied:

========= Parsing file:/home/users/dan/xml/foo.xsl ==========
Parse of file:/home/users/dan/xml/foo.xsl took 2350 milliseconds
========= Parsing foo.xml ==========
Parse of foo.xml took 146 milliseconds
=============================
Transforming...
transform took 207 milliseconds
XSLProcessor: done

Compilation finished at Fri Feb 18 19:11:12

but the result file foo.html contain:
<xsl:stylesheet result-ns="" version="1.0"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/XSL/Transform"><xsl:template
match="foo"><HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Foo</TITLE></HEAD><BODY><xsl:apply-templates></xsl:apply-templates></BODY></HTML></xsl:template><xsl:template
match="bar"><P><xsl:value-of
select="."></xsl:value-of></P></xsl:template></xsl:stylesheet>

Where am I wrong? Please help me!
Thank you!
Dan
