Hi Devs,

Due to the fact of haven't any reply from the other committers and I am motivated to work for Xalan, I become interested for the ticket Complete support for StAXSource / StAXResult.
As this ticket reporter, I think Michael Glavassevich will be the mentor for this project, can you confirm this?

Why am I the correct student for this project ?
I am very motivated. Furthermore, I am a Java programmer since 2010 and I have a good experience with it. I am prepared to work in this project and I am preparing a formal proposal to submit to the program.

For the proposal, the following technical parts were identified so far:

The proposal will be organized as described at the ASF GSoC 2013 page:

If you have more details about this project, please let me know.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for these information.
Having derivatives of Xalan-J are included in both the Oracle and IBM JDKs represents a great motivation for me.

I am looking forward to hearing from the other comitters.

Hi Samuel,

(Speaking just about the Java version of Xalan)

Derivatives of Xalan-J are included in both the Oracle and IBM JDKs. I
would expect that the majority of users would be getting their JAXP/XSLT
support in this way. I couldn't guess how many use the Apache releases of
Xalan-J directly, but have to imagine it's gone down over the years with
the availability of JAXP/XSLT support in Java SE and processors such as
Saxon which have supported XSLT 2.0 / XPath 2.0 for a long time.

I know there's been some interest by users for XSLT 2.0 / XPath 2.0
support. They occasionally ask about it on the mailing list. Personally I
haven't kept up with the standards, so from a technical perspective I
wouldn't be able to provide much guidance for XPath 2.0 / XSLT 2.0. The
other committers may have more knowledge.
