Hi,

   the apache mirror page

     http://www.apache.org/info/how-to-mirror.html

   ... suggests :

     rsync -rtlzv --delete rsync.apache.org::apache-dist /local/path/to/mirror

   We use

     rsync --delete --safe-links -av rsync.apache.org::apache-dist /l/p/m

   ... add '--stats' for more info
   ... add '--progress' if you run rsync 'by hand'
