Rob Vesse commented on LEGAL-305:
---------------------------------

No, the Apache license may be used by anyone. It is a standard recognised open source license
used by many people and corporations outside of the foundation in itself

Please note that your use of the license does not imply any relationship or endorsement from
the foundation so there is no need for any approval. Please ensure that you adjust the license
header appropriately so that you insert the correct copyright holders details

> Hi, Do we need to obtain approval from the ASF in order to apply the Apache License 2.0
for "distribute software and documentation" to our software? Or do we simply apply the boilerplate
notice to our code, adding our own identifying information?
> Thanks,
