Subject [jira] [Created] (LEGAL-248) Importing a podling from googlecode
Date Thu, 21 Apr 2016 13:39:25 GMT
John D. Ament created LEGAL-248:

Summary: Importing a podling from googlecode
                 Key: LEGAL-248
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LEGAL-248
             Project: Legal Discuss
          Issue Type: Question
            Reporter: John D. Ament

With the googlecode shutdown, they've instituted an "import this project into github" feature
which seems to flatten the code and allow it to be brought into a github repo. This basically
removes the original author as anyone can perform this step (the original code was using mercurial,
so I suspect thats why it wasn't imported as commits).

The incubator is looking to bring in a podling, Gossip, that was implemented this way: https://wiki.apache.org/incubator/GossipProposal.
We're anticipating needing an SGA and wanted to check on who that SGA should come from.

My suspicion is the original author. The original author is not involved in the apache project
going forward (and hadn't committed against the codebase for 6 years).
