The chronicle project switched their licensing to lgpl some time ago. So I reached out to them if they would consider switching back to Apache license 2. Peter Lawrey responded that they are interested in usage by Apache so he added a license excemption for open source projects.

So my question: Is this special licensing acceptable for Apache? Dan Kulp told me that it might be a field of use restriction that we can not accept.
