Subject [jira] [Closed] (LEGAL-130) Handling of permissive licenses that are very similar to MIT/BSD/ASL/etc.
Date Sun, 10 May 2015 23:58:00 GMT

Henri Yandell closed LEGAL-130.
    Resolution: Fixed

If I felt confident that a license was a limited variant of a category A license, then I'd
go ahead and treat it as such. Otherwise, open a JIRA issue. Depends on your level of comfort
with the license text.

> Handling of permissive licenses that are very similar to MIT/BSD/ASL/etc.

> Key: LEGAL-130
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LEGAL-130

> Issue Type: Question
> Reporter: Herbert Duerr
> A lot of organizations and developers provide their source under permissive licenses
that are not 100% copies of the licenses approved in category A.
> Examples of typical cases can be seen in

> How should one handle them? Submit a JIRA issue for each file with a license that is
not 100% identical to the ones already categorized or are there general rules to auto-categorize
