Mark Thomas commented on LEGAL-174:
-----------------------------------

1) Not really. The only lawyers to respond on the ASF internal list said they couldn't help
as they also represented Apple.

2) No. This is the correct Jira. You need to get apps into the Apple App Store and this is
the Jira tracking the ASF applying for the necessary account to do that.

In terms of progressing this, I can click the buttons to make it happen very quickly if the
V.P. Legal gives the go ahead.

I've read the agreement and I don't see an issue. Others, including a previous V.P. Legal,
have read the agreement and do see an issue. None of these folks are lawyers.

I can't do anything more until V.P. Legal tells me one of the following:
- go ahead and sign up to the agreement as is;
- the agreement is not acceptable to the ASF (which is likely to result in this being resolved
as WONTFIX);
- the name of a lawyer (with contact details) who is willing to provide some advice as to
whether there is an issue or not.

> Hello, I'm seeking approval for Apache Cordova from VP of Legal to create an Apple Developer
Account for distribution of iOS apps in the App Store. This is the information and/or authority
required to register for the program:
> - The legal authority to bind your company/organization to Apple Developer Program legal
agreements.
> - A registered legal entity name. This name will appear as the "Seller" in the App Store.
> - Address for the company’s principal place of business or corporate headquarters.
> - A D-U-N-S Number assigned to a legal entity. Learn more.
> - A valid credit card for purchase.

> Apple content is back online. You can review legal terms here: https://developer.apple.com/programs/start/standard/
> UPDATE:
> Creating an Apple ID requires agreeing to Privacy [1] and Terms [2].

> [2] http://www.apple.com/legal/
> (And yes that second link really doesn't have any terms associated with it. =/ )

> (Note: T&C appears to be different depending on the target OS. All can be seen here:
