Louis Suarez-Potts commented on LEGAL-174:
------------------------------------------

NeoOffice, the spin created by Patrick Luby and then Edward Peterlin plus some others dba
Planamesa about 8 years ago and which now uses the LO code plus their own rather good inclusions,
can be found in the Apple App Store and used, for a price. NeoOffice's support webstie is
useful here:

"Features that require Java or Python removed

"Apple requires that applications in the Mac App Store not use Java. Also, neither Java nor
Python support the folder and file security restrictions that Apple's App Sandbox imposes.
Because of these Apple security restrictions, NeoOffice users will notice the following changes
in NeoOffice 2013.2:" (http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/macappstore.php, retrieved 2014-03-26T17:23DST
-0400)

The page goes on to lists the deficiencies users will encounter but which can be remedied.
The overall support page is actually instructive to us if we do ever get AOO on the site.
I think the primary issue would be the ones that Planamesa describes and then fixes. And why
not emulate their excellent model? (Except I don't see why we'd charge 9.99 for AOO.)

As to meaningful response from Apple: whom are you contacting? I used to have contacts within
the App Store but not sure any longer. It was years ago and Apple has evolved. (Are there
even any Apple store mavens in Apache?)

> Hello, I'm seeking approval for Apache Cordova from VP of Legal to create an Apple Developer
Account for distribution of iOS apps in the App Store. This is the information and/or authority
required to register for the program:
> - The legal authority to bind your company/organization to Apple Developer Program legal
agreements.
> - A registered legal entity name. This name will appear as the "Seller" in the App Store.
> - Address for the company’s principal place of business or corporate headquarters.
> - A D-U-N-S Number assigned to a legal entity. Learn more.
> - A valid credit card for purchase.

> [2] http://www.apple.com/legal/
> (And yes that second link really doesn't have any terms associated with it. =/ )
