Where a jar contain its own NOTICE, it would be unnecessary to add its contents. 

Sometimes jars are added to Maven whose license requires the distribution of a NOTICE not included in the jar. In this case, append the contents of NOTICE for the jar to the Apache license. Best practice would be to clearly indicate and separate these terms into an independent section through tabulation and a header.

Example

Suppose moo.jar requires that "This contains software created by bar." is noted by distributors but does not include a NOTICE. The 

Apache Foo                                                                                              <---- product name
Copyright (c) 2012 Apache Software Foundation                                          <---- collective copyright claim

This product includes software developed at                                                 <---- Apache advertising clause
      The Apache Software Foundation (http://www.apache.org/).                     <----
