And it is an IMPORTANT difference between Apache and, say, Free
Software Foundation. Apache obtains the right to relicense and
distribute the code, whereas FSF are seeking the rights to the code
(Copyright assignment). So, as for your case, Microsoft retains the
Copyright to 'your contributions' but would still need to abide by the
Apache License 2.0 for using the combined work of you and others in
Qpid. Also, an important aspect is that Microsoft has, via your work,
granted a patent license for any infringements made by your
contributions. But I think your legal dept has already spent a million
dollars to figure that out already.
