Subject Using Yahoo Web Search service in Tuscany sample
Date Wed, 28 Mar 2007 09:49:31 GMT
Hi legal people,

I've contributed a sample to the Tuscany SCA Native runtime that calls
the Yahoo Web Search service (described at
http://developer.yahoo.com/search/web/V1/webSearch.html). This means
that the sample uses the Yahoo Web Search API which is subject to the
Yahoo terms of use. The sample would be part of Apache Tuscany, but
not part of the Apache Tuscany libraries - it is simply a working
demonstration of some Tuscany functionality that shows how to call
public services such as the Yahoo Web Search service.

Looking at the Yahoo! Developers usage policy page, it says that "The
Yahoo! Search APIs are covered under the Yahoo! Developer Network
Terms of Use."
The Usage Policy page is at http://developer.yahoo.com/usagePolicy/
The Terms of Use page is at http://developer.yahoo.com/terms/

Are there any issues in the usage or terms? It looks OK to me, but I
thought I should ask the experts..

The code for the sample is currently under
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/tuscany/cpp/sca/samples/RestYahoo/
The sample has not yet been part of any incubator/Tuscany release, but
we would like it to be.

Many thanks

Andy
