Subject [jira] [Updated] (INFRA-11248) Hadoop: undo merge commit to trunk, and disallow merge commits
Date Wed, 05 Oct 2016 00:10:20 GMT

Chris Lambertus updated INFRA-11248:
------------------------------------
    Review Date: 10/Oct/16 (was: 3/Oct/16)
Status: Waiting for user (was: Waiting for Infra)

This ticket fell off the radar. I would guess this has been resolved by now, but is there
anything further that we can do?

> Key: INFRA-11248
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-11248
> Project: Infrastructure
> Issue Type: Task
> Components: Git

> I have mistakenly committed a merge commit (c3641ed3b183fa46e6b042fd19c1a373b8f95d33),
which would be ideally removed (the result shold be YARN-4420 parented by HDFS-9637).
> Also Merge commits (even simple forward ones like this) should probably be disallowed
on branches in which we can't force-push (and thus repair mistakes).
> Thanks,
