Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-11843) Donate the groovy-lang.org domain name to the ASF
Date Tue, 20 Sep 2016 01:02:20 GMT

Chris Lambertus commented on INFRA-11843:

The current state of this is that the domain is owned by Apache and hosted via our DNS provider,
Dotster. The original attempt to transfer the NS records to Apache failed due to missing zones
on our slave providers at no-ip and surfnet. The workaround was to add the A and CNAME records
via Dotster's webUI such that the domain was resolving via dotster's nameservers. The next
step to resolution will be to verify with our secondaries that groovy-lang.org has been added.
I have received this confirmation from surfnet but NOT from no-ip. I will follow up with them.
Once the secondaries are verified, we can verify that they are serving appropriate records
from our internal master, and then swap the NS servers on our end with no downtime.

> One of the pieces of the puzzle still remaining for the Groovy project is donating the
groovy-lang.org domain name to the ASF. It's currently owned by me personally, and I'd like
to give it to the ASF. It's hosted at Gandi.net at the moment.
