Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-12461) Using Code Markers in JIRA as in other project

Sebb commented on INFRA-12461:
------------------------------

Note that enabling such markup can cause unexpected changes to occur. Punctuation and text
can 'disappear' if they happen to match an escape sequence.
These changes can make it very difficult to read parts of the text
(I've seen this several times in Commons issues, and have had to edit the comments to reinstate
the original meaning).

The markup changes would presumably affect all existing issues (over 12k of them), not just
ones added after the renderer is enabled.

> Currently I have observed that i can't use code markers etc. in the INFRA JIRA Project
things like {code}...Code {code} or things like {{TEST}} ? Does there exist a reason for that
?
