Sterling Hughes commented on INFRA-11804:

hi chris,

i don't know if you're willing to run an experiment here, but it seems like github does allow
you to create teams and then give those teams admin priviledges on the specific repositories
that they have. i've just tried this with the runtime (my company) github account, and it
seems to work.

would it be possible to create a 'mynewt' team, and then give members of that team access
to the mynewt repositories with admin priviledges? This would let us check this data. both
Aditi and I are PMC members on the Mynewt project.

if this works, it might be generally useful for other projects as well.

> I would like to see how many times our git repos have been cloned and by whom (committer
or non-committer):
> https://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator-mynewt-newt.git
> We are trying to understand interest in our podling project.
> On the github mirror we can look at the list of contributors and members - and we can
see who has forked the repo. Is there any other metric that is helpful to assess interest?
> thanks,
> aditi
