Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-11739) Question: migrating code from GitHub

Chris Riccomini commented on INFRA-11739:

[~humbedooh], I don't entirely follow. The Apache repo is currently empty. The GitHub repo
has all of the code.

Also, I notice that other mirrored projects have no 'issues' tab (https://github.com/apache/spark,
https://github.com/apache/kafka, etc). How are issues persisted if there is no 'issues' tab?

> We are looking at migrating code form GitHub to Apache. Is it possible to do this migration
in such a way that we preserve our starts/forks/watches on the repo? We have > 200 watches,
> 500 forks, and > 2500 stars. This gives the project some street-cred that we don't
want to lose.
> I reached out to the AirBNB repository owner ([~maxime.beauchemin@apache.org]), and he
said he's unable to grant root@ admin access to his company's repos. Is there another way?
> I spoke briefly with [~pono], and he mentioned asking [~humbedooh] about this.
