Subject [jira] [Updated] (INFRA-11739) Question: migrating code from GitHub
Date Mon, 25 Apr 2016 15:58:12 GMT

Chris Riccomini updated INFRA-11739:
------------------------------------
Status: Waiting for Infra (was: Closed)

More questions.

We currently have https://github.com/apache/incubator-airflow, which was setup as a mirror
of the Airflow Apache repo, which we had created from scratch. If we take the transfer-repo
approach, do we even need an Apache repository with mirroring? How does the transfer work?
Do you guys move the code into the Apache repository and then set mirroring up on the repo?

> We are looking at migrating code form GitHub to Apache. Is it possible to do this migration
in such a way that we preserve our starts/forks/watches on the repo? We have > 200 watches,
> 500 forks, and > 2500 stars. This gives the project some street-cred that we don't
want to lose.
> I reached out to the AirBNB repository owner ([~maxime.beauchemin@apache.org]), and he
said he's unable to grant root@ admin access to his company's repos. Is there another way?
> I spoke briefly with [~pono], and he mentioned asking [~humbedooh] about this.
