Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-11305) Automated building docker images on Apache REEF DockerHub
Date Thu, 03 Mar 2016 14:38:18 GMT

Jake Farrell commented on INFRA-11305:

The registry url is at https://hub.docker.com/r/apache/reef/ and permissions are setup for
root@ members only right now. The configuration is all automated builds and currently reef
is only set to build on master == latest. if you would like tags matching a pattern I can
enable that also.

Also dockerhub does not support anything beyond 2 levels for its repository names so apache/reef/ubuntu12.04-jdk7:{version}
is not possible. we can do apache/reef:ubuntu12.04-jdk7-{version}, but understand this is
not ideal as it required you to contact infra each time you want to add a new versioned dockerfile
folder to this path.

For a single Dockerfile this setup works well, but for keeping multiple dockerfiles in a single
repo under an org it does not. Infra does have a Bintray account we have been using for ASF
package purposes, we can grant you access there if you would like to manage the projects docker
images instead of on your own dockerhub account

> Hi,
> Apache REEF project wants to setup automated Docker builds on https://hub.docker.com/
as a part of the first TLP release.
> Until now, our (half-official?) docker images are on 'https://hub.docker.com/u/reefrt/dashboard/'
and are automated built based on my personal github repository. I tried to change to move
to Apache REEF Github, but I couldn't.
> If there is a way to setup automated Docker build from Apache REEF Github account, that
would be great for us.
