Ok, having read through the wiki link, it seems I was very much over complicating the original
request (and missed the grun webserver part).

So here's what I'm thinking:

Infra sets up the VM and gets some base packages installed (npm, python, and any others you
might need). Then the Apache Climate project is free to setup to actual app.

One option though: We can setup httpd to proxy requests from the ocw-vm url to the grun webserver
running on the VM and make the URL cleaner (so like ocw-demo.a.o instead of ocw-demo.a.o:9000).
Is that acceptable?

EDIT: forgot to mention, how much disk space do you think you'll need? and if you need more
than say 10GB of space, we can mount a 2nd disk on the VM, we just need to know where the
mount point for disk should be (for the part that will take the most space).

> Changing the description for this ticket. The old description is at the end of the email.
> The Open Climate Workbench community would like to request a VM for us to make available
a public service.
> We are ideally looking for an Ubuntu VM ver similar in nature to the any23-vm.apache.org
VM.
> People who require access are as follows
> Lewis John McGibbney - lewismc@apache.org
> =======================
> Hi Infra@,
> I dropped into Hipchat and [~pono] rightly advised me to log a ticket here.
> I'm looking to set up another service on the any23-vm.apache.org VM wit the idea of sharing
the VM and therefore resources.
> This 'new' service is for another project, namely http://climate.apache.org and would
consist of a lightweight web server which runs a service.
> The thing which I am not sure about, and would really appreciate some feedback on is
the following. I would be looking to get a port on any23-vm.apache.org:9000 re-routed to climate.apache.org/webapp.
> Is this do-able?
> Thanks
