Geoffrey Corey commented on INFRA-10530:

The test kitchen repo I've linked you in the mentioned ticket is a "best fit" type repo. there
is no ldap setup, no asf emergency account, no access to encrypted passwords, etc.

The easiest way to get a manifest going is to use puppet/data/nodes/default-ubuntu1464.yaml
as there is already a definition for it in the kitchen config and will be easiest to get going.

This is using something called hiera, where you declare classes and set variables from classes.
It does not work with define resources though.

If you have any further questions related to test kitchen and/or puppet, hipchat would probably
be the fastest method, otherwise email is a good option too.

> Current VM for Whimsy is running 12.04; which should be retired over time. Please set
up a new VM for whimsy accessible via the web under a new name during the transition. Once
set up and verified, the existing VM can be taken down
