Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-10782) Additional content added to CGI responses
Date Tue, 17 Nov 2015 16:45:10 GMT

Alex Harui commented on INFRA-10782:

Your workaround did not work. I don't know why because the diff looked ok to me, but it was
prepending an extra &lt. If you tried our installer, it would have worked because I had
configured the installer to hit up archive.a.o.

Plus, I had to make another change to the header template today and that triggered off a rebuild
and re-injected the additional content.

I'm happy to try to patch the production files myself if you can teach me how. I don't understand
why a cgi file gets generated into an html file on the production server, and why accessing
a URL ending in .cgi would return a static html file instead of generating an html response
on the fly. Which is what we need otherwise we are going to pound whatever mirror server
is in the static html.

I'm also don't know how to access the html file or cgi file in production in order to edit

> Hit this link (maybe others as well): http://flex.apache.org/single-mirror-url.cgi
> See page source. It includes:
> <style type="text/css">
> /* The following code is added by mdx_elementid.py
> It was originally lifted from http://subversion.apache.org/style/site.css */
> /*
> * Hide class="elementid-permalink", except when an enclosing heading
> * has the :hover property.
>  */
> .headerlink, .elementid-permalink {
>   visibility: hidden;
> }
> h2:hover > .headerlink, h3:hover > .headerlink, h1:hover > .headerlink, h6:hover
> .headerlink, h4:hover > .headerlink, h5:hover > .headerlink, dt:hover > .elementid-permalink
{ visibility: visible }</style>
> which breaks some code we have that parses CGI responses.
