Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-10538) SPOF? reporter.apache.org relies on ldap1-us-west for logins

Geoffrey Corey commented on INFRA-10538:

As you can see here: https://github.com/apache/infrastructure-puppet/blob/deployment/data/colo/osuosl.yaml#L7

the host running reporter.a.o is configured to use 3 ldap servers, incase one stops working.

However, in this case, the problem is that connections to ldap1-us-west are not timing out,
they are just hanging (and thereby causing the issues being seen now). I have updated dns
and created a new vm so once the changes start showing up in various dns caches, it should
start working again as normal.

> Key: INFRA-10538
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-10538
> Project: Infrastructure
> Issue Type: Bug
> Reporter: Sebb
> ldap1-us-west is currently down.
> This appears to be the cause of login failures to the system.
> Whatever is checking the login credentials should not be put off by a single ldap host
being down.
> This could be a config issue on the box, or it could be a problem with whatever handles
the fallback (if there is one on that box).
