Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-9094) Request transfer of sigyn jail to new vm (Tapestry)

Bob Harner commented on INFRA-9094:
-----------------------------------

Gavin, never mind about access to the old jail. I have what I need for now, and I have been
able to set up our Java web app under Tomcat on the new VM (http://tapestry-vm.apache.org:8080/tapestry5-hotel-booking
) without any problems. I think we're done with the old jail, although you might want to leave
it up for a few days to give Uli a chance to weigh in.

Going forward, I would like to proxy requests through the apache web instance running on that
server (and then shut down external access to port 8080). The method I'm familiar with requires
installation of the mod_jk module. Should such installs be done by the Infra team (my preference),
or by me?

Related questions:

# What are the policy restrictions on what I should and shouldn't do on this VM?
# Who is responsible for applying patches/security updates to the OS?
# Do I need to ensure my configuration changes (to apache http & tomcat) get pushed back
to the puppet configuration (which I see at https://github.com/apache/infrastructure-puppet/blob/deployment/data/nodes/tapestry-vm.apache.org.yaml
) ?

> As sigyn is being decommissioned, Tapestry requests a virtual machine to replace the
project jail. This is used by the Tapestry "Hotel Booking" demo app. Thank you.
