Geoffrey Corey commented on INFRA-9832:

Infra will create the isis-sit.git repo.

But how the contents get from svn to the git repo has a few different ways:

1. Infra migrates isis/site/trunk to git (keeping all the hostory), and then isis creates
a branch named asf-site which then gets synced using gitwcsub
2. Infra gives you an empty git repo, you add all the content from isis/site/trunk/ to the
empty git repo (possibly all on the asf-site branch), then it gets synced to gitwcsub

Let us know which one works for you.

> ---------------------------------------------------------
> Key: INFRA-9832
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-9832
> Project: Infrastructure
> Issue Type: Task
> Components: Git, Website
> Reporter: Dan Haywood
> Priority: Minor
> Apache Isis currently uses the svn-based CMS (https://cms.apache.org/redirect?uri=http://isis.apache.org/).
> As per https://blogs.apache.org/infra/entry/git_based_websites_available (and as I understand
it), we can simplify our workflow by being able to push to the "asf-site" branch of (some)
repo; a gitwcsub subscriber will then publish our changes to our site.
> Therefore:
> - please create a new git repo, "isis-site" and a new branch "asf-site"
> - seed with the contents of our current site (https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/isis/site/trunk/content)
> - set up the gitwcsub subscriber for the automatic publishing to isis.apache.org.
> But let me know if I've misunderstood the blog post and what I've asked for isn't possible...
> Many thanks
