Matt Gilman commented on INFRA-9291:

Tony,

Just to clarify that if we went this route there's no way to retain the online CMS editing
while supporting the external commit process? There is definitely value in being able to edit
online if we had to change something when we didn't have access to a machine that could build/commit
the website. It wasn't clear how the external commit would fit into the Apache CMS Ui ->
Staging -> Publish work flow. It sounds like it doesn't. Even if that is the case, we are
still going to proceed. I just wanted to be clear how it worked and what our options are.

Thanks again.

Matt

> Please let me know if this is not the appropriate place for this sort of request. I've
sent a few emails to INFRA over the past few weeks and I have not heard any response. If I
need to go about this request in another manner please let me know. Thanks!
> My original email is below:
> ----------------------------------------
> Infrastructure,
> We are interested in discussing build options for an updated Apache NiFi incubator website.
It does not appear the build tool employed is supported and it looks like we'll want to establish
an external build [1].
> - What does this process entail?
> - What is the URL for the SVN repo (Our current interactions have been solely through
the CMS web interface)?
> - Once we commit to the SVN repo, does the site immediately publish or is there still
a staging phase?
> - Are there any requirements for the directory structure?
> Thanks!
