Tony Stevenson resolved INFRA-8738.
-----------------------------------

I am closing this issue. Like I said in my comment, if you feel you want to escalate this
please do so, we are more than happy for you to do that. But until one of the people who
direct the output of the Infra team say otherwise we will consider this issue closed, as Won't
Fix.

I appreciate this is not what you want to hear from us. But I think is our final decision
until directed otherwise. I thank you for your understanding of the current situation.

> It would be really, really, really helpful if ASF can grant some Spark committers push
privilege to GitHub.
> We rely on GitHub pull request workflow for development/review, and a critical part of
the process is git mirroring. While we sincerely appreciate the work INFRA has put into the
mirroring script, we also realize that it is a non-trivial job for INFRA to keep the mirroring
feature work all the time. In the past few months, git mirroring has been consistently flaky
(see linked JIRA tickets). When mirroring is behind by hours, development activity stops and
we waste tremendous amount of time waiting for it to sync up again.
> If we can have push privilege to github, when the mirroring is flaky, a committer can
mirror the two git repos manually to resolve the issue. This will also alleviate the urgency
and workload for infra to fix mirroring.
